And what is at least one thing about it you actually liked? For me it was a 2013 Prius rental car in Miami. Okay, I didn't drive it, my dad did. The shifter is obnoxious, my dad always had me do it because he couldn't figure it out (To tell ya the truth, I had issues with it too). It's sucks so bad. But I loved the cargo area under the shifter, and the infotainment system was superb.

....My van. As usual.
God, I need a car that sucks less ass. Even an Avenger and Taurus are more entertaining!

The infotainment system on the Prius SUCKS. Source - my sister had a 2010, now a 2014.
The 2014 one is better, but it still isn't that great.
As for most boring car, uh, probably this HS250h

A 2005 Impala, base model. It was grey, the interior was gray, the steering was without any feel, it was extremely quiet, and the throttle pedal made it only slightly less quiet.

1997 Volvo 850 automatic. I died a little every time I sat in the driver's seat. It was more boring, hulkier and wallowier than my old '87 Cavalier.

Yeah, it was simple to use. But at least in the first Prius, if you plugged in an iPod and tried to use the car's built in iPod manager... it was ungainly and slow as shit.

It was about a 2011, But it was extremely distant the entire time. Like indirectly driving or something is what it felt like.

Tossup between a 2002 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2l and a 2002 Nissan Micra 1.0l. I'm leaning towards the Corsa because although they're both low-powered, at least the Micra had a bit of that tin-can on wheels feel of an older little hatchback. The Corsa was safe, but heavy.

The most boring car I've driven recently was a Nissan Altima rental car. You would think 180 horsepower would not be that bad, but it had absolutely the worst tires I have ever driven on. They chirped every time I accelerated from a light and just couldn't handle the power from that almighty CVT 4 banger.
It didn't help when this guy parked next to me at work:
That is my trunk on the left, which is one thing I liked about the car. It had a spacious trunk. Also, it had nice legroom in the back seat compared to most European cars.

A Chrysler Sebring.
There was one thing I liked about it though. It came with a full tank of gas.

I have to hit 4k+ to get to speed in any acceptable among of time. ):
It was a big step down from 270 hp, but then I think of all the transmissions I haven't had to rebuild.

Dodge Caliber rental car, with the base engine and CVT.
To describe as a raging shitpile is a massive understatement.... I'm getting queezy just thinking about how disgustingly terrible it was.

My grandmother let me drive her Pontiac 6000 station wagon like the one in the picture. I had my permit and wanted to take it on the highway. 65 in this thing was a challenge.

2011 Chevy Aveo sedan. It had an automatic and everything was manual, NP power feature . But, gas mileage was decen .

My truck was near empty when I bought it, luckily my mom was nice and bought me my first tank as a gift. Also it was lucky that I bought it from a guy at his work which was right next to a shell station, the shell station where the original owner's daughter worked

I would say that the Prius is more infuriating to drive than anything else. The most boring car would have to be this Nissan...whatever it is. I don't know. They all look and drive the same to me.

I actually like those, but only as a commuter.

Old Corsica rental I got from some fly by night rental company back in ~2000. A ten-ish year old car with mismatched bald tires and a ~100 HP engine mated to a 3 speed slusher in a mid size car is soul-sucking. Also, no radio and the window cranks were broken off so no lowering them.
![]() 12/22/2014 at 11:16 |

The 850R sharpens things up a bit with fat, low-profile tires and stiffer suspension (as well as a beauty of a turbocharged engine). But there's no getting around the fact that it's a heavy understeering barge of a car, and it's gone from a comfortable, heavy, understeering barge, to a heavy, understeering barge that will shatter your spine on every single pothole.
The 850R's straight-line acceleration, however, is by no means boring ;).

2012 Chevy Impala rental car. No handling or brakes, nearly everything about it felt unsafe except for the fact that it was gigantic. The only thing I liked about it was ground clearance, I didn't have to worry about parking blocks or steep driveways.

Sorry, my comments are all jacked up today. It was just old. It was also my first real car. I didn't have any concept of power steering, and had no idea it wasn't working. Just thought it was a good arm exercise.

yeah I heard things about the R. Oddly enough, we just bought an S40 T5 R-Design after hating the first Volvo we owned. I love the S40!

The no power, automatic, rental Sonic sedan I had once.

The one in which I learned to drive in. It was a first gen Citroën C3. I think it had the 1.4 HDi engine (75hp...). I hated driving this car. Especially since at home the car I was cleared to drive was my mother's Passat (with the big, torquey V6 TDI). It hadn't enough power, the chassis was crap, it didn't drive good.
Then it would be a early 2000 Renault Clio with a the base petrol engine. Almost as crappy as the C3. A close contender is another friend VW Polo (200-ish model) with a 1.4 TSI engine.
I'm glad I have a car, despite not having a great amount of power, with an awesome chassi.

My current car, a 2001 Toyota Corolla 1.4. It has no redeeming features other than being hassle-free; it is competent but dull beyond words. The most interesting thing about it is the sticky fuel filler flap.
A distant second - 2012 Opel Astra CDTI kombi. MT. Brown. Boring. Nice inside, goes ok, but super boring.

I used to have a T5 SE and loved it. The manual gearbox was great, it was so comfy, the engine was great and although it did have loads of body-roll it understeered far less than I was expecting.

I will not hear a bad word said about the K11 Micra!
The Corsa C on the other hand, I wouldn't describe as boring either - it's actively shite.

Ugh, I had one as a rental. It was a beige-tan-cream color. The color that's all the colors and yet none at the same time. The inside was grey-ish. Manual everything..and not even a CD player!
It was just...horrible. And this from a woman that says the best handling car is a rental.

my sister in law's Toyota Camry Hybrid!
i'd rather drive a Cadillac Cimmarron.

The one I had was a rental as well. It only had 1300 miles on it, so it was brand new. I had it towards the end of 2010. Mine had a CD player at least. Not much else though. The 2010 Sebring I had was much better. Not an amazing car, but far better than the Chevy.

For me, Its a 2014 Honda Civic lx. I was in need of a more reliable mode of transportation because my 99 maxima with a cat back exhaust was in need of repairs here and there, but I love driving it otherwise. Now I’m stuck with the civic, and because it has a CVT Transmission, it’s so boring. However, it’s quite useful for acceleration. I was somewhat forced into the whole ordeal. I’m still waiting for the moment to get behind the wheel of a more exciting car, only permanently.

Ive actually driven a ‘14 Civic EX-L with the CVT. Its not bad to drive, its an appliance. Super easy to just get in and go. Which is pretty bleh to be stuck with, I’ll agree. But the lack of hassle it involves to drive it is a little bit comforting as well. I could never own one, but I like having access to one (its my parents car). Now that same gen CRV; that is a truly hateful piece of machinery
